It’s already December 20th—a month that always seems to disappear faster than any other. That means you officially have just 11 days left to achieve all those New Year’s resolutions, so it’s probably time to panic and get moving.
Olsson’s Closer by Eric Olsson and TCC Magic (£29.99)
Originally released around six years ago, this is a powerhouse card routine packed with more kickers than almost any trick I can think of. A card is selected and lost, its identity revealed through “mind reading,” then spelled down to. That alone would be strong—but it keeps escalating. The dealt cards turn out to be the remaining aces and a straight flush, followed by a royal flush, and finally the revelation that the entire deck has returned to new deck order. That final moment is what truly elevates the routine and requires a gimmicked deck, though many earlier phases can be done with a standard one.
The strength of this trick lies in pacing and presentation. Don’t rush the reveals—let each surprise land before moving on. Humor is essential, as is building anticipation rather than rattling off kicker after kicker. It works best in a parlor setting with a table, and while the deck isn’t Bicycle-branded, laypeople simply don’t notice or care. The TCC cards handle well, feel slightly glossier than USPCC stock, and function perfectly for the routine. The trick is largely self-working, with minimal setup and a short tutorial focused mostly on explanation and presentation. It’s a true closer in every sense and resets quickly.

Tech Deck by Craig Petty (£54.99)
This is a solid, electronic block disguised as a deck of cards, designed to be revealed at the end of virtually any card routine as the method behind the magic. Whether used from the start or switched in at the end, it creates a powerful moment when the deck becomes solid in a spectator’s hands. The reveal alone is strong, but opening the deck to show illuminated electronics takes it even further.
The tutorial runs over three hours and includes a wide range of card routines—ambitious card sequences, packet tricks, and classic plots—giving you enormous flexibility. The prop itself looks convincing on the table, feels right in the hands, and doesn’t arouse suspicion unless you draw attention to it. While the interior electronics are simple, the overall effect is strong, batteries last a long time, and there’s no need for recharging. It’s a versatile finale that can be dropped into many existing routines.

Dual Pad by Victor Zatko (£34.99)
Dual Pad is an exceptionally clean and clever peek device using ordinary-looking Post-it pads. A participant writes or draws something, places the pad face down, and moments later the performer can accurately reproduce the information. There are no electronics, carbon paper, threads, or suspicious materials, and the pads can be examined freely. The peek is full, clear, and natural, with only minor audience management required. It’s easy to carry, simple to perform, and versatile enough for predictions, book tests, or mind-reading routines. One of the cleanest peek methods available.
Double Stacked by Alex Lator and Juan Capilla (£34.99)
Double Stacked is a utility gimmick using Oreo cookies, functioning much like a coin gimmick. The realistic rubber cookie allows for productions, vanishes, penetrations, and transpositions, with over two hours of tutorial covering sleights and routines. While food magic won’t appeal to everyone, it’s highly visual, easy to perform, and especially effective for children or family audiences. The gimmick does most of the work automatically and opens the door to a wide range of adaptations from classic coin magic.
