The Saturday Show October 4th 2025

It’s October 4th, 2025, and funnily enough, it’s National Vodka Day which falls right in the middle of National Back Care Awareness Week. Why vodka only gets a day and back care gets a week? I’m not sure. Today happens to be Saturday, 9:00 a.m.—perfect timing for the Monster Magic Saturday show. Let’s dive in!

Crash Pro by Ji Feng, Baogo and Bacon Magic (£25.99)
This is the pro version of an earlier release, designed to let you “glitch” a participant’s iPhone. Borrow their phone, make it flicker, flash, and produce amusing sounds, then restore it instantly with a snap. It’s clean, clever, and highly visual—perfect for creating a sense of magical control without sleight of hand.

The tutorial is comprehensive, running 40 minutes, covering four different methods for setting up the phone. You’ll need an Apple device to practice, and while navigating iOS might feel tricky at first, the effect itself is easy once you’ve mastered the timing and choreography. A little wrist work and some casual questions from you buy the setup time, and suddenly the phone appears to respond to your will. This is a brilliant everyday-carry effect for impromptu magic.

The Trick With a Name by Piff the Magic Dragon. (£34.99)
This clever effect involves writing participant names on adhesive labels, having a card selected and lost in the deck, and then magically revealing the card on the back of the name label. It’s charming, interactive, and works especially well in walk-around or stage performances.
You receive 100 labels (50 blank, 50 with reveals) and can use multiple cards to avoid duplicates. The only caveat is that the key gimmick—the “nightmare card” for vanishing the card—is not included, so some DIY or slight-of-hand adjustments are necessary. Despite this, the effect is virtually complete before participants realize it’s started, making it easy, clean, and highly engaging. It’s a fun, personalised trick that gets people talking.

Appearing Bear by JC Magic and Bacon Magic. (£130 to £360)
This Blackpool release allows you to produce a giant teddy bear from a surprisingly small container. Options include a top hat, box, or even behind a seance cloth, with three bear sizes: small (65 cm), medium (110 cm), and large (150 cm). While too big for close-up work, it’s a fantastic stage or children’s performance effect, blending magic and comedy seamlessly.

The bear inflates via a mini fan, which produces some noise, so performing in a noisy environment or with background music is recommended. The kit includes batteries, a charger, forcing bags, and a smaller matching bear for predictions. The tutorial is 30 minutes, showing multiple production methods and body-loading options. The medium and large bears are visually stunning and bring a dramatic comedic kicker to your act.

Key to Success by TCC. (£29.99)
This is a fresh take on the classic padlock trick. Participants select one key out of five, which is placed in a red envelope. None of the other keys work, and when the key’s serial number is revealed, it matches a prediction card—and, crucially, it opens the lock.

What’s ingenious here is that TCC uses a genuine padlock and keys. The effect is hands-off, virtually self-working, and allows complete free choice. The tutorial is 12 minutes, clearly explaining the method, with two slightly different approaches. This is a strong, visual, and completely credible effect, ideal for close-up or walk-around performances.
