I was doing some magic in my local park (now retired, I have become the odd magician). When a passer-by stopped to watch, then said, " I remember you did a magic night and borrowed my wife's ring, and it appeared on your shoelace. We have talked of it often". That show was around 15 years ago. This effect is very memorable.
I was using Interlace (I think it is called that), but it required a lot of tailoring and worked maybe 7 out of 10 times.
No Risk is just that 100% success rate with minimal preparation. So ingenious, it's hard to believe it took so long to be invented. I borrow a ring; it vanishes, ends up on the key ring (Propdog), then a ring and lace routine, ending with the spectator holding the lace. I then say, "It will vanish and appear on the shoe lace, upon opening their hand, no ring I then point out they are looking at the wrong lace, etc. The routine's high success rate always gets an unbelievable reaction. I'm so pleased that this is back in my close-up act after over a decade. If you have deep pockets, as my suit has, then you can put a small 3-inch cut a good 3 inches from the pocket bottom, thus still keeping the pocket usable. It requires a little practice to get all set up, but once done, it's done. I also use a couple of safety pins to hold certain bits in place rather than the supplied belt clip. A straightforward commercial entertaining piece of magic that your audience will never forget. 10 out of 10.
