The Saturday Show July 5th

The Saturday Show July 5th

It’s 9:00 on a beautiful Saturday morning. It's time for the Monster Magic Show!
Special shoutout to Wayne Dobson as it’s his birthday. Wayne, thank you for inspiring me (your Royal Variety Show act with Frank Bruno and Harry showed me magic could be funny as well as powerful). This show’s dedicated to you.

Ox Bender 2 by Menny Lindenfeld, (£86.50)
The classic coin bender returns, now smaller, grippier, and with shims for smaller coins. Works one-handed with a lot of coins and items, but UK steel-core coins are tough and most will require two hands to bends. The tutorial is excellent, covering handling, misdirection, and choreography.
Ox Bender is versatile and can bend washers, batteries, and signed coins (hugely powerful). Not perfect for all currencies, but still a strong, modern bender.

Shutter Frame by Massimo and TCC Magic (£24.99)
A metal frame that visually transforms one card into a signed selection. Clean, fair, and very visual. You’ll need to make the card insert (arts & crafts), but once set, it’s durable and easy. The change looks beautiful. Can’t be examined, but above suspicion. A strong, elegant card effect with personality.

Double Vision (Steve Gore, £34.50)
Steve’s upgrade to the Invisible Deck. You catch an “invisible” deck, then it visually transforms into a real, boxed deck—before revealing the chosen card reversed inside. The visual opener adds real punch to a classic. Tutorial is short but solid, and the gimmick is reliable. Price is higher than a regular Invisible Deck, but the extra magical moments may justify it.

Flat Dice (Michael Breger and TCC (£38.99)
Six quirky flat dice rolled by the spectator while your back is turned—you reveal the total, then repeat with more dice, finishing with a prediction. Requires one casual question and some light math, but it flies by. Acrylic dice are well-made and fun. Multi-phase routine avoids repetition, and you can even link the totals into other effects. A charming, self-contained mentalism piece.

That’s it for this week! The sun’s out so get up, get out, and go enjoy your magic, the best hobby in the world. See you next time!
