The Saturday Show January 24th

The Saturday Show January 24th

It’s still somehow January—but it’s Saturday, which means one thing: time for the Monster Magic Saturday Show.

Good morning! If you’re new, welcome—this is a light-hearted magic review show, so sit back and enjoy.

Single Minded – Conjuring Labs
A thought-of card is arrived at entirely in the spectator’s imagination—cutting an invisible deck, rolling an imaginary die, and making free choices—yet it matches a card that’s been in your wallet the whole time. There’s also a clever secondary reveal using a “52-to-1” card. It’s essentially an open prediction without physical cards, making it highly portable and very engaging for multiple spectators. Method-wise, it’s self-working with a small amount of simple “number handling” and rehearsal. The teaching (with Gregory Wilson) is thorough, full of tips, and explores presentation and outs. Strong, practical, and ideal for everyday carry. £30.

Phantom Pad – Alex Latorre, Victor Sanz & Dante
A blank notepad magically reveals drawings or information—like a selected card—under a spectator’s hand. It’s a great concept with multiple routines (card reveal, voodoo-style effect, fly gag, number reveals), and the method is clean and easy. However, the look of the writing (more crayon-like than ink) and the size/handling of the pad limit its practicality. Some ideas feel underdeveloped, though the core principle is promising and fun to experiment with. Feels like a strong starting point rather than a finished worker. £26.99.

Fate Ring – GBDL Magic
A selected card is revealed via a ring—first through a stunning dribble catch, then visually appearing on the ring itself, even in the spectator’s hands. The dribble catch is a real highlight (practice required but achievable), and the ring method is clever, requiring no switches and ending clean. You also get a second routine using eliminations and multiple outs. The gimmick is well made, the tutorial detailed, and the concept versatile beyond cards. Strong utility piece if you’re willing to practice. £55.

Cash Flow – Conjuring Labs
A credit card visually transforms into a real banknote, which can be handed out. Extremely visual, practical, and well-built. Setup requires cutting one note, but the gimmick is durable and reliable. Multiple handling options and routines are taught, including a nice transposition with a wallet. Works with UK notes and is highly adaptable. A great quick-hit effect for real-world use. £39.50.
