The Saturday Show July 26th

The Saturday Show July 26th

It’s 9:00 on a Saturday—time for the Monster Magic Show. Good morning, everyone! I promised not to mention the weather, but since I bought sandals it’s been damp and miserable in the UK. Hopefully brighter days ahead.
Let’s dive into the reviews:

Twisting the 13 Plus by Bacon Magic (£16.99)
A clever packet trick where spades magically flip one by one, then transform into court cards while the ace appears in the deck. The gimmick does most of the work, though a simple half-pass and some knack are needed. Comes with two gimmick versions, works with most decks, and includes a clear 15-minute tutorial. Fun, quirky, and easier than it looks.

Coin Guessing Game by LT Magic (£38.99)

Sadly, a disappointment. The effect: your participant always calls heads/tails correctly. You get two gimmicked coins in a tin, but the tutorial is only five minutes and offers little beyond repeating the same plot. Handling is noisy, unnatural, and limited—you can’t let spectators examine the coin. Far better alternatives exist (e.g. Hot by 1914, or Penguin’s Flip).

Egg Bottle by Bacon Magic and Long Long (£34.50)
A comedy prop disguised as a salt shaker that lets you switch objects like eggs or cubes. Long Long’s routine is charming: a squeaky fake egg becomes real and cracks into a glass. The shaker doesn’t look very convincing, but since it’s a comedy piece that hardly matters. Angles make it more suited for parlor than close-up, but the handling is easy and fun.

Chronos by Mateo Pittenger (£68.50)
An electronic ITR hidden under your watch strap for levitations like floating cards or haunted deck. The design is smart, re-threading is easy, and the 15-minute tutorial is clear. Works best with wider rubber or smartwatch straps. Great for casual or one-off performances, though maybe too bulky for everyday carry or gigs. Well-made and practical if it fits your style.

And that’s this week’s show! A bit shorter than usual due to technical issues, but I hope you enjoyed it. Now get out there, grab some magic, and have fun with the best hobby in the world. See you next week!
