The Saturday Show May 10th

It’s Saturday morning, 9:00—time for the Monster Magic Show! Hope you’re ready for the weekend and some magic reviews. Let’s dive in.

Colour Telepathy by JT (£25.99)
Three coloured beanbags go into a black bag. Spectators each take one, and you reveal who has which. No peeks, electronics, or gimmicks—just a clever method. Props are well-made and examinable (one at a time). Easy to do, pocket-sized, and versatile. Downsides: the tutorial is only 12 minutes with no live performance, so presentation is up to you. Still, a strong, simple effect.

Tongue Tide by Mario Lopez (£26.99)
A quirky balloon trick: put a balloon in your mouth, blow it up hands-free, and pull it out tied with your tongue. Mario also teaches a fun extension, using the balloon mouth to blow objects off a table. Eric Tait covers the setup, gimmick use, and safety (important since part goes in your mouth). A bit of practice needed, but not difficult. Funny, amazing, and charming. Though the balloon can’t be fully examined afterward.

Swing by Michael Rangel (£34.50)
A ring penetrates a velvet ribbon multiple times, even in a spectator’s hands. Based on an old classic but elevated with quality props and a polished routine. Michael emphasizes psychology and adds clever phases. The ribbon looks far better than the shoelace used in older versions, making it more professional. Strong, layered routine—though a little pricey for what you get.

Nailed by Rich Marotta (£29.99)
A coin sticks to your forehead. When removed, it reveals a nail attached! A silly, baffling gag, perfect opener, easy, and resets instantly. The gimmick is ingenious, no switches needed. Tutorial suggests you don’t let it be fully examined, but the method is very well hidden. Just don’t keep it in your back pocket unless you want a painful surprise.
