The Saturday Show May 24th

The Saturday Show May 24th

It’s 9:00 on a Saturday, which means it’s time for the Monster Magic Saturday Show. Good morning! In the UK, it’s also the May Bank Holiday, so we’ve got an extra day for magic and fun.

Firefly by Titanas (£51.99)
This week’s big release is Firefly, a utility device that lets you create and manipulate a bright glowing light with your bare hands. It works like a smoke device in terms of enhancing effects, though angles are more restrictive since something is hidden on the hand.
The gimmick is compact, lightweight, USB-C rechargeable, and has three modes (hold, on/off, timed fade). The tutorial is thorough (three one-hour videos) and includes many routines: producing lights, lighting bulbs, illuminating bottles, coin tricks, and even spectator-empowered effects. Build quality is excellent, battery life is strong, and it’s easier to use than smoke devices, but watch your angles.

Holding Pattern by Alvo Stockman (£11.99)
A clever triple revelation: three selected cards are found with the Queen of Hearts, which visually changes to reveal each participant’s card in turn. The gimmick (supplied in red Rider back, two copies) is simple but effective.
Eric Tait’s tutorial (30+ minutes) teaches forces, reveals, and several variations. It’s easy to carry, integrates with a normal deck, and works great for group performances.

Shaker by Flatbase (£38.99)
A utility card box that can convincingly rattle (or not) to simulate an object’s presence. Operated with a disguised magnet, it allows for card-to-box effects, vanishes, transformations, and more. The box is well made, holds about 50 cards, and comes with poker chips for color changes. Tutorial covers handling, routines, and creative uses. A very clever prop with lots of potential.

Invisible Harmonica by Fabian Rebouh (£21.99)
A comedy-magic gimmick that lets you mime playing a harmonica with your hands or borrowed objects. Simple, pocket-sized, and fun for impromptu moments. Fabian and Eric Tate’s tutorial covers handlings, storylines, and routines, from quick gags to a fuller performance with productions and transformations. Lighthearted, entertaining, and surprisingly versatile.

That’s it for this week’s show. Enjoy the extra day (UK magicians especially) and go create some magic this weekend. See you next time!
