Each box is a fragment of memory planted by the Dreamweaver within the "dream within a dream"; every opening subverts the boundary between reality and illusion.

The Performance Story: The Dreamweaver's Memory Implantation Technique

In this world, there are Dreamweavers-they weave dreams, infiltrate consciousness, use "totems" to anchor reality, and reshape memory with "prophecies." When the audience thoroughly shuffles the deck (mixing cards face-up and face-down at random), the true magic begins:
  • The Dream Begins: The audience's shuffle is the "outcome of the dream," not the process. The Dreamweaver's totem (a unique marker) suddenly vanishes, drawing the audience into a journey of "verifying the outcome within the dream."
  • Layered Dreams: The magician opens the boxes one by one, each layer a deeper "dream." The prophecies on the backs of the boxes ("X cards are face-up," "X of them are red") match the audience's shuffled deck with uncanny precision-as if everything had been predetermined in the dream.
