WHAT IF YOU COULD REVEAL A CARD USING A BORROWED PHONE?
Imagine revealing a selected card with nothing but a borrowed phone. Just one picture or video — and the spectator’s chosen card appears instantly. The photo can even be shared on social media right after the performance.
EXTREMELY VISUAL. TOTALLY MODERN.
LightPaint marks the first release from Gentlemen’s Magic — and what a debut it is! Incredibly visual, fresh, and unforgettable, LightPaint creates a powerful moment your audience will remember. An original idea by Mathieu Bich, this effect lets you reveal a selected card using any borrowed cellphone.
THE EFFECT
You introduce a semi-transparent card as your prediction. It looks completely normal — spectators can even examine it. Then, using the spectator’s own phone, you take a photo of them holding the card — a fun keepsake to look back on later.
Next, the spectator freely selects a card from a regular deck. When they check the photo you took earlier… the impossible happens. Their chosen card magically appears in the picture — as if it’s been there all along.
The reveal is instant, stunning, and feels completely impossible.
PERFECT FOR EVERY MAGICIAN
Whether you’re a beginner, amateur, or working pro, LightPaint fits perfectly into any setting — from family gatherings and casual parties to professional gigs, bars, and restaurants. The semi-transparent card does all the work for you, so you can focus on performance and presentation. With an instant reset, you’re always ready to perform again — with a different card every time.
Insanely visual. Incredibly modern. A must-have for the 2.0 magician.
LEAVE YOUR SPECTATOR A LASTING SOUVENIR
Using a borrowed cellphone makes the effect even stronger. Not only does it heighten the magic, but it also gives your spectator a unique souvenir — the magical photo saved right in their gallery. They’ll remember you every time they see it — and they can instantly share it online.
THE CARD DOES ALL THE WORK
Focus entirely on your performance — LightPaint handles the magic. No apps. No internet. Works on any smartphone with a flash.

Love this trick. Yes, there is a bit of a setup. Participant does the trick, with a little guidance from the magician so it makes them feel that they are the mind reader and the performer. Such a fooler for the layperson.
So easy to follow. Yes it does take a bit of setting up. It's not just a few cards you've got to put back in order but the whole pack, but it's well worth it. And you make the spectator feel as if they are doing everything, just a little bit of guidance from the magician. No sleights at all, nothing to remember. It's a really good trick and such a fooler to the layperson
This trick has been out a while and is very popular for a reason. It is simple but baffles the spectator and can be done in their hands.
The video covers everything you could want including several different handlings.
It is well worth getting.
