Spectra by Luke Dancy

After nearly 15 years, Luke Dancy returns with SPECTRA, a bold modern evolution of the Red Hot Card trick by Al Leech which gained popularity as the Chicago Opener (also known as Red Hot Mama) when Bar Magic took off.

Your spectator begins by naming any colour not just red or blue, but any colour they can imagine. Then they freely select a card from the deck. With no suspicious moves, the back of the card they just chose is revealed to have changed into the exact colour they named. It's set aside as an impossible moment of personalised magic.But it doesn't end there.

A second card is now selected. When the magician turns over the odd-backed card that's been in plain view, it's no longer the original selection; it has now changed into the second card they just chose.

Unbelievably this is not a gimmicked deck yet it requires no difficult sleight-of-hand or palming. It is super direct magic that feels as fair as it looks.
