The Three Shell Game is a classic street con that has transcended various cultures, continuously evolving throughout history.

Today, The Shell Game is primarily performed for entertainment and has developed into numerous versions, including those using traditional shells, walnut shells, and the rarer "Turtle/Tortoise Shells."

While some "Turtle/Tortoise Shell" versions of The Three Shell Game are available, Mai Bro's The "Shell" Game offers significant enhancements beyond mere aesthetics.

Mai Bro's The "Shell" Game allows for all the classic shell game techniques and routines, with a standout feature being a cleverly designed structure that enables a small ball to be hidden easily while still allowing you to show the shell as empty.
In addition, Mai Bro has uniquely included two types of small "peas" made from different materials and colors: yellow silicone "peas" and red cotton "peas." These materials have different compression ratios and friction, making it easy to perform colour-changing ball effects.

These innovative features are achieved purely through structural design, with no magnets or moving parts. The video demonstrates some of the impressive effects and routines possible with this ingenious design.

Each "shell" is crafted from pure brass, weighing approximately 53g, with an electroplated surface that is hand-aged and polished by craftsmen to provide an antique look and feel. The set comes with 5 yellow peas and 3 red peas, enabling stunning transposition and transformation effects.

A lovely shell set, shame about the balls!

I perform The 3 Shell Game regularly and am always on the lookout for a new set of shells, so when I saw Alex reviewing these I could not resit!
The solid brass shells are very nice and well made. (And very well priced too!) They are on the larger and heavier side - at 54g they are my heavies shell set and the second biggest - but work very well. Unfortunately the balls it comes with are just too small! They work but for shells this big you really need something larger. At the very least something like The School for Scoundrels Perfect Pea. The routine and teaching is good but if you are just starting with The Shell Game maybe these are not the best shells as one or two moves are a little tough with large, heavy shells. That being said, some moves do work better with a heavy shell.
I doubt I will ever use them for a performance but a nice addition to my collection!
