Here’s what happens:

You place a card box on a marker on a table. You then hypnotize your audience members and remove their strength. Even as you casually pick up the SAME DECK over and over again, no matter how hard they try, they cannot lift it off the table.

You again show them that the deck is easy to pick up when you effortlessly lift it from the table. Then, you take the cards out of the box to show there are no hidden magnets or electronics and go straight into your next trick.

Unliftable is a specially gimmicked cardboard that will become impossible to pick up unless you know the secret. There are no electromagnets, glue, or complicated gimmicks. A box of cards becomes stuck to the table.

The gimmick is sound and works once its "worked in". From new, you add it to your card box and then rub it against your clothing for a few minutes to "activate it". If you don't rub it to recharge it occasionally, it will lose its adhesive strength. Its an easy thing to do at the start of the night and it should last all evening if not much longer. Before needing another rub. When this trick was released at the Blackpool convention, this one-time set-up was not mentioned and I'm not sure even the creator knew it was needed. Which means its unlikely to have been mentioned in the original tutorial. Whether its been updated to include this I don't know; which is why I'm mentioning it here.
They cannot examine the box (but they can look at it and see nothing) and the surface you perform on must be smooth like a glass table. It works great on a mobile phone screen, making it suitable for walkaround.
I'm giving it five stars but this really is a trick that you should know where you want to place it in your set before buying, as I can see many people leaving it in the top draw or treating it like a toy. It should be used to build a routine around, and is not really a trick of its own.

Good surprise effect , can be used in my opinion as an opener for any good card routine. Or as an exhibition of your hypnotic and suggestion powers after a good card effect.

This is a delightful effect which if combined with a follow up card effect/trick from whatever deck you choose to place in the box will have your ‘audience’ already intrigued as to what you will do next but still puzzled by their inability to lift a simple deck of cards. Brill!
