The Saturday Show May 3rd

Good morning, UK! It’s 9:00 and time for the Monster Magic Saturday Show. The sun’s out, perfect for a bank holiday. Sorry if I look tired; some geese woke me up, maybe complaining about my snoring. Hopefully they stay quiet while we dive into today’s reviews.

Cupcake Pro Plus by Milo & Bacon Magic (£29.99)
A clever combo of chop cup and coin slot box, allowing coin routines, transformations, and classic chop cup effects. Compact, well-made, and comes with three quality balls (one chopped) plus a final load ball. Tutorial is silent with bad jazz, but clear. Great for pocket magic, though no chop cup routines are taught. I'd suggest checking out Michael O’Brien’s for that. Excellent value.

Instrumental by David Jonathan and Nicholas Mavresis (£23.99)
An audience member picks a song via “karaoke cards,” and the prediction appears on Spotify (or even a borrowed phone). Works with free or premium Spotify; premium allows instant audible reveals. Cards look innocent, with a wide song range for all ages. Tutorial (75 min) covers basic, premium, and enhanced versions, plus bonus tricks. Super easy, brilliantly deceptive, and now works on Android too.

The Noble One by Matthew Wright and Mark Bennett (£85.99)
An ambitious card routine with a powerful ring reveal. The story-driven presentation sells it: the chosen card vanishes, turns blank, and finally appears engraved on the ring. Comes with luxury cards, a large ornate ring with interchangeable inserts, and a velvet box. Tutorial focuses on presentation and ring handling more than cards, but you end clean. A strong, theatrical piece for storytellers.

The Quimera Box by Hector Maccagno (£61.99)
A lidless brass “Boston box” style gimmick using black art. Coins placed inside vanish or travel, taught in three routines of increasing difficulty. It comes with brass ring, gimmick, half dollars, and black art material (plus red/green options). Works best on a close-up mat. Visual, baffling, and well-made, though the advanced routine could use more teaching.

That’s it for this week’s show! Enjoy the long weekend, get outside, and share some magic, enjoy the best hobby in the world.
