Anything Thru Mirror by Dingding & TCC Magic

It's a small mirror in a wooden frame. Things pass through it. That's the trick.

Scarves, Sharpies, chopsticks, straws, your own fingers. You push them through the surface of what is clearly a solid mirror, then show both sides cleanly afterwards. No holes, no slits, nothing to find. The effect was created by Chinese magician Dingding, and the structural approach he came up with is genuinely clever. 

The frame is North American Black Walnut, hand-polished. It's a nice object to have on a shelf even if you never perform with it — the grain is good and it sits well on a desk without looking like it came out of a magic catalogue. That said, "highly ornamental work of art" might be pushing it a bit. It's a well-made prop with a decent frame.

Operating it is straightforward. There's no fiddly mechanism to fight with before you've had your morning coffee, which is more than can be said for a lot of things in this price bracket.
