Coins vanish, transform, and even melt through your spectator's hands. The Legendary Scotch & Soda effect has astonished millions of people worldwide because it is one of the best coin effects ever created. Now, you can perform it with a quarter, an arcade token, and incredible new routines that will thrill your audiences and make you look like a real-life pinball wizard. This is Arcade Coin by Penguin Magic.
Here’s what happens:
You show your audience an ordinary quarter and a classic arcade token and tell them that you will scam them like you used to scam the arcades in high school. They take both coins into their hand and hold them in a tight fist. You remove the arcade token from their hand, leaving them firmly holding onto the quarter. You ask them to tell you what coin remains in their hand; you’d even bet them a game of Galaga if they got it right. They say the quarter, but that’s when you remind them that this is a scam. When they open their hands, all that is there is a worthless washer. Best of all, everything is immediately examinable.
Arcade Coin is a precision locking coin set hand-made from actual currency by the professional machinists at Penguin Magic. A magician quality-controls each set to ensure that they are some of the best coin gaffs in the world.
Along with the coin set, you will receive an instructional video featuring FISM winner Erik Tait, who teaches you some of his pet routines that he’s been dazzling audiences with during his actual walk-around work. Apart from the classic Scotch and Soda routine, you’ll learn to make a coin vanish from someone’s hand and re-appear underneath their watch and even learn to melt a coin through the back of an audience member’s closed fist. Put astonishment on top of the scoreboard when you perform Arcade Coin by Penguin Magic.
"This is as good as magic gets!" - Michael Ammar
"Scotch and Soda was one of the very first tricks I performed professionally, so saying I am excited to get the Arcade coin in my hands is an understatement. The tutorial is filled with excellent routines and handlings. It was the easiest purchase I've made in a while." - Ryan Schlutz
Ok... Still love my original S&S gimmicks and whilst this adds new items to the effect there is nothing too 'wow'. I was a little underwhelmed by the items provided and the plastic ring to separate the coins won't last too long compared to a metal one. Expensive for what you get IMHO. Wish I had upgraded my coins to a similar set with better weight and handling

Guessed how this was done prior to purchase but still worth it. The cards are good quality, its super easy and will certainly be using it during the quite period after the meal at weddings when there is not a lot to photograph (I'm a wedding photographer who does a few tricks if there is not a magician there). Would have been nice if it came in a plastic wallet rather than an envelope with the name of the trick on it but I have some knocking around and you may want to get one if you purchase this. Overall usable, will hopefully get good reactions and easy to do. I'm off for a pint now to try it out on a few folks.
Another simple but effective little trick from Tenyo. Very clever and dead simple to do. Good price, fun and baffling what more could you want? I love most of the Tenyo tricks and this is no exception. I wish they would also do more premium versions that were metal rather than plastic but I suppose that is part of the joy of them.
I tried this at a booking for a family halloween party in the local pub and went down a storm.
Really funny when the adults could not make the sound of the animals
