The effect: You begin by clearly displaying four red-backed cards. They are counted openly and fairly, then placed into a spectator’s hands. There’s nothing suspicious—just four cards, securely held from the very start.
A second spectator, across the table (or stage) is shown a small packet of blue-backed cards. They freely think of any card—no force, no influence. The selection is completely their own, and the cards remain in full view the entire time.
The two spectators stand apart, each guarding their own packet, making any form of trickery seem impossible.
Then, under impossibly fair conditions and without any visible sleight of hand, the merely thought-of blue-backed card vanishes from its packet.
Moments later, it reappears among the red-backed cards—the very ones that have been in the first spectator’s hands all along.

An oldie but goodie
Firstly, with reference to Graham's review (below) - two decades ago ? I saw Max Maven perform this at the Blackpool Convention in 1989 - nearly 4 decades ago. Now don't get me wrong because, in my view, this is the best card across routine there is. But, why has no-one said that the comment about the spectator 'freely thinks of any card and there is no force' is completely untrue ie they are downright lies ! The spectator thinks of the card that is forced. In the video, think of any card other than the 5 of spades and the trick doesn't work ! The 5 of Spades is forced. That said, the force is very easy. And, as I intimated up front - a brilliant, truly baffling effect, which fully deserves a rating of 5 out of five.

Very deceptive packet trick and easy to do after watching the short tutorial from Xavier. Max Maven's effects are in a league of their own, quite unique and this one is no exception. The gimmick is very clever indeed. I plan to purchase another as a spare / replacement. If you have B'wave, this is a good accompaniment.
It’s alright…. Mine came, and didn’t work like video.
It’s “OK”. It feels it’s been a rushed project by Vanishing Inc.
Box came, you open it and look at the prop. Mine had scuffs and loose metal particals all over it, the screwdriver had been bashing around the box.
Watched the whole video, which doesn’t show you much. And then put it together. Tried it, nope. And again, and again. It didn’t work. Even with slight twakjng. Due to liking a project to work on, I took parts of it apart, and have made it work for 90% of the trick. The bit where the card is, doesn’t lay flat and is not great.
Overall, disappointing for £90 and which I didn’t buy ngl.
